چکیده

Abstract Background: Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is an established treatment of depression. The more recently introduced intermittent Theta-burst (iTBS) has shown significant superiority over sham-stimulation and equal effect sizes to a 10Hz protocol in one clinical trial. aim the current study was investigate effectiveness tolerability iTBS naturalistic, setting. Further, we explored demographical predictors response. Methods: Data collected from seventeen rTMS-sites Sweden between January 2018 May 2021, through Swedish National Quality register for repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (Q-rTMS). We included 542 iTBS-treated patients with unipolar or bipolar Outcome assessed Clinical Global Impression Severity [AN1] Improvement [AN2] scores intention treat analysis. Results: response rate 42.1% 16.1% reached remission. significantly larger oldest age group compared youngest (odds ratio 3.46, 95% confidence interval 1.65-7.22). Theta-burst repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation for treatment-resistant obsessive-compulsive disorder with concomitant depression.

To the Editor: Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a potential therapy for major depressive disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder that acts by modulating cortical activities. 3 have developed a novel paradigm of theta-burst stimulation (TBS)—low-intensity bursts of rTMS at 50 Hz—as a safer, more controllable, more consistent, and longer-lasting rTMS. The continuous TBS (...

Modulation of somatosensory evoked potentials using transcranial magnetic intermittent theta burst stimulation.

OBJECTIVE To study the modulation of somatosensory evoked potentials (SEP) using transcranial magnetic intermittent theta burst stimulation (iTBS) over human primary motor (M1) and sensory (S1) cortices. METHODS Eleven healthy subjects participated in the study. Median nerve SEP were elicited by electrical stimulation at the right wrist before and after 600-pulse iTBS over M1 or S1 of the lef...

Theta-burst transcranial magnetic stimulation alters cortical inhibition.

Human cortical excitability can be modified by repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), but the cellular mechanisms are largely unknown. Here, we show that the pattern of delivery of theta-burst stimulation (TBS) (continuous versus intermittent) differently modifies electric activity and protein expression in the rat neocortex. Intermittent TBS (iTBS), but not continuous TBS (cTBS),...
